WHERE IT ALL BEGAN…

Never one to colour in the lines, Vanessa’s abstract career began at age four, when she won ‘Most Colourful Picture’ at a local art contest in Calgary, AB.

Her first professional art show in 2008 (Whitehorse, Yukon) was inspired by the breathtaking wilderness, vast terrain, and kindness of the local community. Vanessa relocated back to Ontario in 2009. Vanessa’s artwork is displayed across Canada and in the United States. Vanessa currently resides in South Frontenac, Ontario with her family.

INSPIRATION…Vanessa creates intuitively, often letting the painting be the guide. Her work is inspired by the changing seasons, and she draws from the vast array of colours that exist in nature, art and fashion. Landscapes and flowers are often featured in Vanessa’s work, and her bold use of texture and colour gives her work its signature style. She works in acrylics, and paints both on canvas and support surface wood panels.
